4 2 07 RSVP Week Proclamation
WHEREAS,
the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Dubuque County was
formed and has been in existence since 1972; and
WHEREAS,
the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program represents seniors and local
agencies within Dubuque County; and
WHEREAS
, the mission of The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program includes
providing volunteers the opportunity to share their life experiences with
those in need while serving the needs of the community; and
WHEREAS
, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program has been instrumental in
partnering volunteers with local agencies that together work to satisfy
the critical needs of the community; and
WHEREAS
, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program with The Finley Hospital,
their sponsor for the last 25 years, have worked together by providing
the necessary support to continue the mission of being focused on
serving the needs of the community.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, IN
KNOWING THAT APRIL 15-21, 2007 IS NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK, DO
HEREBY PROCLAIM THE WEEK OF APRIL 15-21, 2007, AS
“RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER WEEK”
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, IN RECOGNITION OF OUR SENIOR
VOLUNTEERS FOR THEIR EFFORTS THIS WEEK AND EVERY WEEK.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have
hereunto set my hand and caused the
Great Seal of the City of Dubuque to
be affixed this 2nd day of April, 2007.
