Cable TV Coordinator Craig Nowack is recommending approval of the Cable TV
Commission recommendation for funding from the Public, Educational, and Government
(PEG) Capital Grant for Access Equipment and Facilities in the amount of $16,215 for a
new Sony Anycast Touch portable production studio for the City of Dubuque. This will
replace the City's current eight-year-old Sony Anycast, which will be permanently
placed at the Dubuque County Courthouse for the County to use to record the County
Board of Supervisors meetings.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to forward a recommendation from the Cable TV Commission for funding from the
Capital Grant for Access Equipment and Facilities.
BACKGROUND
The Capital Grant for Access Equipment and Facilities created by the cable franchise agreement that went into effect on
June 5, 2005, currently has a balance to be awarded of $500 329.
At its meeting on June 4, 2014, the Cable TV Commission approved a request for up to $16,215 fora new Sony Anycast
Touch portable production studio for the City of Dubuque. This will replace the City's current eight-year-old Sony Anycast
which will be permanently placed at the Dubuque County Courthouse for the County to use to record the County Board of
Supervisors meetings. The grant application is attached.
RECOMMENDATION
I respectfully request that the Commission's recommendation for this request be forwarded to the City Council to receive, file,
and approve. Thank you.

inputs and outputs.
Describe how the community will benefit from your request:: The Anycast Touch gives the ability to record
and switch multi -camera shoots in the field. It will be a critical component in remote live broadcasts
during emergencies.
