SUBJECT: Eagle Point Park Roofing Project, Project #1584
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to recommend that the City Council accept the
Eagle Point Park Roofing Project.
DISCUSSION
The Eagle Point Park Roofing Project has been completed by Kluck Construction, Inc.
in the final contract amount of $54,645.50. A summary of the project costs is as follows:

This project provides for replacement of the wood shingles on the Band Shell and
Eagle's View Pavilion. The FY 2007 C.I.P. budget contains $44,100 for this project.

Change order #1 replaced the plywood and frame so we could re-install the skylights in
the Eagle's View Pavilion. Change order #2 provided for replacement of the rubber roof
portion of the Band Shell. Close inspection during construction revealed this portion of
the roof was in poor condition and needed to be replaced. Funds from the Eagle Point
Park Stone Work Project will be used to cover this $12,395.50 overage.
ACTION STEP
The action requested is that the City Council adopt the attached resolutions accepting
the improvement and setting the final cost.

RESOLUTION NO 204-07
ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENT
WHEREAS, the contract for the Eagle Point Park Roofing Project has been
completed and the City Manager has examined the work and filed his certificate stating that
the same has been completed according to the terms of the contract, plans and
specifications and recommends its acceptance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
1. That the recommendation of the City Manager be approved and that said
improvement be and the same is hereby accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be and he is hereby directed
to pay to the contractor from the General Fund in amount equal to the amount of his
contract, less any retained percentage provided for therein.

RESOLUTION NO. 205-07
FINAL ESTIMATE
WHEREAS, the contract for the Eagle Point Park Roofing Project has been
completed and the Engineer has submitted his final estimate showing the cost thereof
including the cost of estimates, notices and inspection and all miscellaneous costs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the cost of said improvement is hereby determined to be
$54,645.50, and the said amount shall be paid from the General Fund of the City of
Dubuque, Iowa.
