Stevens called the meeting to order at 4 p.m.
Acceptance of the Agenda
Upon a motion by Hoverman, seconded by McMullen, the Agenda was accepted 6 - 0.
Approval of the Minutes of May 7, 2014
Upon a motion by JTigges, seconded by Maloney, the Minutes were approved 6 — 0.
Public Input
There was no public input.
Access Equipment & Expenditures
Nowack presented a request by the City of Dubuque for $16,215 for a new Sony Anycast Touch
portable production studio to replace the existing eight-year-old unit the City has been using. Nowack
explained that the existing unit will be permanently placed at the County Courthouse for the County to
use in recording the County Board of Supervisors meetings. Hoverman moved to approved up to
$16,215 for the purchase. The motion was seconded by Vincent and approved 6 — 0.
PEG Channel Proposal
Nowack explained that he is awaiting some additional information to give to the City Manager prior to
having the Commission consider this proposal and asked that it be placed on next month's agenda.
Mediacom Cable Report
Barefoot introduced his new production assistant, Bridget Reidy, who gave a brief summary of her
video experience. All others present in turn introduced themselves. Barefoot then updated the
Commission on the audio troubles that continue to plague the live Mercy Mass telecasts on public
access Channel 80. Mediacom has had a technician come in from a field office to help solve the
problem.
Cable TV Report
Nowack reported on the tumultuous first days of the City's Video Production Intern, Samantha Cihak,
who started on the previous Friday when a couple of important production events were happening.
She is about to complete her first program, a Featurette on the street mural -painting event that
occurred on Saturday. He then provided an update on other productions currently in the works for the
City. He also reported that the "From the Archives" press release was issued earlier today. Stevens
announced that his increased duties on the Sunnycrest Manor Oversight Board have caused him to
not seek another term on the Cable TV Commission when this current term expires on July 1. He
thanked the Commission for his positive experience these past eight years.
