Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the 2014 CDBG
Curb Access Ramp Installation Project was awarded on July 10, 2014, to Midwest
Concrete, Inc., in the amount of $43,668.25.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the 2014 CDBG Curb
Access Ramp Installation Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City
Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

The 2014 CDBG Curb Access Ramp Installation Project provides for the replacement of
fourteen curb access ramps at locations associated with the Public Works Department
overlay project, one-half of which are also in the CDBG Target Area.
The following is a summary of the bids received:
Midwest Concrete, Inc. $43,668.25
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on July 10, 2014 to Midwest Concrete, Inc. of Peosta, Iowa, in the amount of
$43,668.25.
The CIP #2601246 CDBG fund amount available is $38,375.11 and the Public Works
Department CIP #3001227 Curb Ramp Program in the amount of $5,293.14 will cover
the balance.
In accordance with the competitive quotation requirements of Iowa Code, Section 26.14,
it is necessary that the award for the 2014 CDBG Curb Access Ramp Installation
Project to be officially recorded in the minutes of the City Council.
