Dear Council Members:
In compliance with section 515.150 of the Code of Iowa, be advised that the IMT Insurance
Company is in receipt of the above captioned claim for which a demolition cost reserve has been
established.
The applicable limit of liability for the damaged dwelling is $35,000. The claim is in excess of
policy limit. IMT Insurance Company is holding in reserve the amount required under section
515.150 to satisfy the Incurred demolition costs. $10,000 is being withheld pursuant to this Iowa
statute. We ask that when the property is either repaired or demolished that you issue a letter
releasing your interest in the demolition reserve as stated under 515.t50 of the Iowa code.
This home sustained a substantial water damage loss and the damages significantly exceed the
coverage on the property. Under Iowa statute, we are advising you of this to protect the
demolition reserve provisions of that statute. Again, $10,000 is being held until the home is
either rebuilt or demolished pursuant to compliance with City of Dubuque building codes.
