PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, all citizens are affected by our nation's rising demand for quality, long-term
care services; and
WHEREAS, we salute our community's citizens now residing in nursing facilities, many
of whom planted the seeds that made our community grow and prosper;
and
WHEREAS, member facilities provide caring and supportive services that make quality
life possible for our loved ones; and
WHEREAS, member facilities of the American Health Care Association and the Iowa
Health Care Association are providing in the week of May 13-19, 2007, a
host of activities using the theme "Treasure our Elders."
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO
HEREBY PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF MAY 2007, AS
"NURSING HOME MONTH"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, IN RECOGNITION OF ALL THE PEOPLE THAT
PLAY THEIR UNIQUE PARTS THAT MAKE UP THE SUCCESSFUL QUALITY CARE
PERFORMED AT THE NURSING FACILITIES IN AND AROUND DUBUQUE.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have
hereunto set my hand and caused the
Great Seal of the City of Dubuque to
be affixed this 7TH day of May, 2007.
