Legislative Correspondence re Economic AppropriationsApril 12, 2007 Representative Pam Jochum Iowa State Capitol Des Moines, IA 50319 Representative Pat Murphy Iowa State Capitol Des Moines, IA 50319 Dear Representatives Jochum and Murphy: As a board member of the Dubuque Area Labor Management Council, I respectfully request that you consider sponsoring an amendment to the Economics Appropriations bill to include funding in the range of $200,000 to support the statewide labor- management program. The bill in question is SF 562, the Economics Appropriations bill. Your amendment would restore essential funding throughout the state to those interested in promoting the common good through cooperative labor management organizations. In addition, your leadership would ensure the continued success of the highly regarded and effective Dubuque Area Labor Management Council. My position as board member of DALMC for the past 10 years has given me the opportunity to witness first hand the importance and value of partnership and cooperation between labor and management in our community. I hope that you will consider this request favorably and please feel free to contact me regarding any questions you might have. Sincerely, Michael C.
