Van Milligen, City Manager Westside Intake Replacement Project Acceptance Public Works Director Mike Koch is recommending acceptance of the Westside Intake Replacement Project, as completed by Renaissance of Dubuque Corp., in the final contract amount of $39,704.11. Koch, Public Works Director Westside Intake Replacement Project Acceptance INTRODUCTION The enclosed resolutions provide for the acceptance of the construction contract for the Westside Intake Replacement Project. DISCUSSION Work has been completed on the project by Renaissance of Dubuque Corp., Dubuque, Iowa, in the final contract amount of 839,704.11. RECOMMENDATION I recommend that the City Council accept the improvements and the final contract to be established at 839,704.11. BUDGET IMPACT A summary of the budget costs is as follows: Bi~d Final Construction Contract $37,321.00 839,704.11 Contingency 3,975.00 0 Engineering 6,558.75 6,558.75 Total Project Cost $47,854.75 $46,262.86 The project will be funded from the General Fund from a Fiscal Year 1999 appropriation of ~)67,280. ACTION TO BE TAKEN The City Council is requested to adopt the attached resolutions accepting the improvements and establishing the final construction cost. IA 52001-4864 RESOLUTION NO. 13-02 ACCEPTINGIMPROVEMENT Whereas, the contract for the Westside Intake Replacement Project has been completed and the City Manager has examined the work and filed his certificate stating that the same has been completed according to the terms of the contract, plans and specifications and recommends it acceptance. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA: Section 1. That the recommendation of the City Manager be approved and that said improvement be and the same is hereby accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be and he is hereby directed to pay to the contractor from the Fiscal Year 1999 General Fund in amount equal to the amount of his contract, less any retained percentage provided for therein. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA: Section 1. That the cost of said improvements is hereby determined to be $46,262.86 and the said amount shall be paid from the Fiscal Year 1999 Fiscal Year General Fund of the City of Dubuque, Iowa.
