1. Approve Minutes of April 5, 2007
Motion by Kluesner to approve the minutes of April 5, 2007. Seconded by Duher.
Motion carried 3-0.
2. Opinion of City Attorney Barry A. Lindahl - Certifying List for Equipment Operator
II
City Attorney Lindahl cited the Iowa State Code that "The commission, within ninety
days after the beginning of each competitive examination for promotion, shall certify to
the city council a list of names of the ten persons who qualify with the highest
standing..." He said there weren't any exceptions that he was able to find. Duher asked
if it was possible to give separate exams. Peck said that if no one from this exam
accepted the position, then separate entry-level exams would be the next step. The
Commission then concurred on certifying the list.
3. Establish Passing Point and Certify List for Position of Equipment Operator II (If
Necessary)
Kluesner moved to receive and file the communications and to establish the passing
point for the position of Equipment Operator II at 79 (72.5%). Seconded by Duher.
Motion carried 3-0.
Motion to adjourn at 11:10 a.m.
