Voices Productions is pleased to present Voices X: Make Your Mark, a month-
long art exhibit and series of cultural events opening September 6 through
October 4, 2014 celebrating ten years of existence in Dubuque's Historic Millwork
District; and
Voices is a call to enrich the lives of Dubuque's citizens, foster appreciation of
arts and culture in the Tri-State region, welcome new residents, and increase
awareness about the growth of creative industries through art exhibitions, events,
film, poetry, and other cultural experiences; and
Voices provides a unique cultural opportunity for people of all ages, incomes, and
ethnicities to come together and experience a wide variety of the arts and the
growth that continues to take place in the Historic Millwork District; and
the 2014 Voices exhibition includes the visual and performing arts featuring
paintings, drawings, installations, sculpture, film, music, and poetrX by national
and regional artists, along with cultural events that will mark the 1 0t anniversary
of Voices; and
the City of Dubuque joins with Voices Productions in welcoming and recognizing
the participating artists, mentors, musicians, students, hundreds of volunteers,
and many visitors who are contributing to the growth and economic impact of arts
and culture in our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, 1, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM SEPTEMBER 6
THROUGH OCTOBER 4, 2014 AS
"VOICES X: MAKE YOUR MARK DAYS"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my
