Chief of Police Kim Wadding recommends approval of the annual liquor license renewal
for the businesses of Dubuque's American Lady, 1630 East 16th Street; McCann's
Service, 690 West Locust; and Ooh La La, 3460 Hillcrest Road.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this memorandum is to recommend the annual renewal of the above
listed liquor establishments and to highlight the calls for service related to incidences of
disturbances, crimes against persons, crimes against property, and public morals
occurring at the business since the last liquor license renewal.
BACKGROUND
Regarding the listed liquor license establishments, the following is a summary of activity
since their last renewal. The following key provides a brief description of those calls for
service displaying four areas of concern.

DISCUSSION
DUBUQUE'S AMERICAN LADY (1630 E. 16T" ST)
Since the last renewal date there were no calls for service to the business. Additionally,
there were no individual alcohol violations and no alcohol violations against the
business.
MCCANN'S SERVICE (690 W. LOCUST)
Since the last renewal date there were a total of 12 calls for service. Of these calls,
three were disturbances, no crimes against persons, six crimes against property, and no
public morals. Additionally, there was one individual alcohol violation and no alcohol
violations against the business.

Since the last renewal date there was one call for service to the business for a parking
complaint. Additionally, there were no individual alcohol violations and no alcohol
violations against the business.
RECOMMENDATION
Based upon a review of the above business, we would recommend approval of the
annual renewal liquor license for Dubuque's American Lady, 1630 East 16th Street;
McCann's Service, 690 West Locust; and Ooh La La, 3460 Hillcrest Road.
ACTION REQUESTED
Action requested is City Council consideration to approve the liquor license renewal for
Dubuque's American Lady, 1630 East 16th Street; McCann's Service, 690 West Locust;
and Ooh La La, 3460 Hillcrest Road.

Whereas, applications for Liquor Licenses have been submitted to this Council for approval
and the same have been examined and approved; and
Whereas, the premises to be occupied by such applicants were inspected and found to
comply with the State Laws and all City Ordinances relevant thereto and they have filed proper
bonds.
NOSH, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE,
IOWA:
That the Manager be authorized to cause to be issued the following named applicants a
