The City of Asbury is again seeking the support of the City of Dubuque in the form of a
resolution of support for the Intersection Improvement Project to assist the City in
obtaining funds from the Safe Roads to School Grant this fall.
The project will increase the safety of students who walk or bicycle to school and
increase the health of students by offering them a safer route to school. Furthermore, the
project will provide a safe enviromnent for pedestrian traffic, and will result in continuity
and connectivity of bicycle and pedestrian trails in our community.
The City of Asbury respectfully requests the enclosed resolution to be placed on the
agenda of your next regularly scheduled meeting for consideration and approval. Please

citizens of the community can receive an improved quality of life from completion of
such a project and that the project will support community growth. The project will
increase the safety of students who walk or bicycle to school and increase the health of

1n addition, the project will support the regional economy, provide maximum access to
all recreational, residential, educational and commercial areas, promote safety of
pedestrian traffic, and promote connectivity and continuity of bike and pedestrian
trails.
