Van Milligen, City Manager SUBJECT: Re-platting former ROW adjacent to the Dubuque Technology Park Economic Development Director Dave Heiar recommends City Council approval of the re-platting of lots 1 and 2 of the Dubuque Technology Park No. 4 to incorporate the excess right-of-way into lot 1 and create a separate lot (2) for the America's River sign. Heiar, Economic Development Director SUBJECT: Re-platting former ROW adjacent to the Dubuque Technology Park INTRODUCTION In 2004, the City of Dubuque acquired excess Highway 151161 right-of-way adjacent to the Technology Park from the Iowa Department of Transportation to construct a sign designating the City of Dubuque as Home of America's River. Not all of the 1.345 acres acquired at that time were needed for this signage. BACKGROUND During negotiations with Conlon Johnson Development LLC, it was determined that a portion of this ROW (.582 acres) would be sold with Lot 4 to Conlon Johnson to provide for a somewhat larger lot size. Another small portion of the excess right of way is adjacent to Lot 2 Block 1 which lies just to the North of the McLeod property. The proposed replat will increase the existing lot size from 5.05 acres to 5.20 acres. The America's River sign is located on the .609 acres of right of way adjacent to the McLeod property. RECOMMENDATION 1 recommend the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign the plat for lots 1 and 2 of the Dubuque Technology Park No. 4 to incorporate the excess right-of-way into lot 1 and create a separate lot (2) for the America's River sign. ACTION STEP The action step is for the City to adopt the attached resolutions.
