City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends City Council approval of the plans,
specifications, form of contract and the estimated cost of $42,703 for the Kaufmann
Alley Storm Sewer Construction Project.

INTRODUCTION
The enclosed resolution is in reference to the public hearing for the Kaufmann Alley
Storm Sewer Construction Project.
BACKGROUND
The funding for the Kaufmann Alley Storm Sewer Construction Project was established
with the adoption of the FY2006 CIP budget. The project entails the construction of
approximately 350 feet of 24-inch diameter storm sewer from Kaufmann Avenue to the
north in the alley just east of Kurt Street.
DISCUSSION
The storm sewer will capture stormwater that originates on Primrose Court north of
Kaufmann that flows to the alley. In the past, the stormwater has caused damage to the
alley and private property adjacent to the alley.
BUDGET IMPACT
The total estimated project cost is as follows:

RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that the City Council adopt the resolution approving the plans,
specifications, form of contract and the estimated cost for the Kaufmann Alley Storm
Sewer Construction Project.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
The City Council is requested to approve the resolution adopting the plans,
specifications, form of contract and the estimated cost for the Kaufmann Alley Storm
Sewer Construction Project.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
That the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated
cost for the Kaufmann Alley Storm Sewer Construction Project, in the estimated
amount $42,703.00, are hereby approved.
