Per City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances §1-33, the City Council is authorized to issue
subpoenas upon a written request and affidavit. Attached please find my affidavit and
requested subpoenas for the liquor license suspension hearing scheduled for July 18,
2007.
I hereby request that the City Council grant City Clerk Jeanne Schneider the authority to
sign subpoenas on behalf of the City of Dubuque City Council and issue the attached
subpoenas.

AFFIDAVIT OF CRENNA BRUMWELL

I, Crenna Brumwell, of the City of Dubuque, Iowa, after being first duly sworn, state
as follows:
1. I am the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Dubuque, Iowa and have been
since March 18, 2006.
2. I am requesting the Dubuque City Council issue subpoenas for the hearing
scheduled for Wednesday, July 18, 2007 on the matter of the appeal by Cooper
Management Company of the proposed suspension of its liquor license.
3. Pursuant to City of Dubuque Code of Ordinance §1-33 I hereby request the
presence of the following individuals by name and address, the exact things
sought to be produced and the materiality thereof:
