Library Board of Trustees Update
From the Meeting of September 25, 2014
Present: Mike Willis, President; Jenny Weiss, Vice President; Dan Boice,
Secretary; Trustees, John Anderson -Bricker, Paula Connors, Patty Poggemiller,
and Jon Trotter
• August marked 17% of the fiscal year passing with budget expenditures at
14% and revenue generated at 19% of projections.
• Check-outs by Dubuque residents dropped 2% year-to-date. Open
Access transactions have decreased 16%. This accounts for most of the
overall 4.2% overall decrease in materials checked out when compared to
the same time last year.
• Digital materials continues growth in check-outs with an increase of almost
20% when compared year-to-date with FY14.
• The elm veneer replacement has been fully completed.
• Work on the sanitary line on first floor will begin on October 9 and is
expected to be completed in less than a week.
• New cash registers with a credit card solution have been ordered;
however, the VeriFone credit card readers are on back order and this will
delay implementation for 10 weeks.
