WHEREAS, the American Legion is celebrating ninety-six years of service to the
Dubuque community, the State of Iowa, and the world-wide
community; and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque American Legion, during its ninety-six years of service
to Dubuque-area veterans and their families, has helped many
hundreds of veterans by providing educational, financial and medical
assistance and peer support; and
WHEREAS, the Dubuque American Legion is anon-profit organization working to
improve the lives of our veterans and their families; and
WHEREAS, by reason of the above and foregoing, veterans and their families of
the Dubuqueland area have benefited tremendously from countless
volunteer hours of the Dubuque American Legion.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BOOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO
HEREBY PROCLAIM THE 11TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2014, AS
"VETERANS DAY"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have
hereunto set my hand and caused the
