ARTS AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS ADVISORY COMMISSION
SPECIAL SESSION
Thursday, July 5, 2007, 9:00 a.m.

Commissioners present: Ellen Henkels, Louise Kames, A Geri Shafer, Paul Kohl
Staff Present: Jerelyn O'Connor
Some commissioners met to discuss content and format of FY 2007 Annual
Report. Commissioner Sue Riedel was unable to attend but she provided a
detailed written summary of the work of the commission. Commissioners felt
this was a good place to start but the consensus of the group was to prepare a
report with more graphics and photographs to tell the story and less text.
Commissioners suggested including local statistics using the Arts and Economic
Prosperity Study as the basis. Louise Kames suggested placing emphasis on
the advocacy role of the commission. She also suggested using the framework
of the commission mission and goals for the structure of the report. Louise
volunteered to work on layout of the report. Geri Shafer stated she would review
the operating support applications to compile data on the local arts organizations
