TO THE DUBUQUE MAYOR AND DUBUQUE CITY COUNCIL:
This letter is to express my concern about two items which I believe need immediate attention, rather than three
or four years down the road. I appreciate the- b~zdget crunch, etc. but I would rather see these two things take a
higher priority.
The first item is Asbury Road, from St. Abrose west to TFK Road. This is a h}ghly traveled street and one of the
worst in the city of Dubuque. My family from Des Moines last week was appalled at the condition of this road.
It is impossible to keep your wheels aligned and shocks in working order with all these terrible bumps. 1
believe the traffic that must use this east-west road deserve a better road to drive on.
The second item, which is of great concern to me is the Eedar Cross-Highway 20 intersection, where the
frontage road connects with Cedar Cross Road. I would challenge each of you to try to turn left onto Cedar
Eros Road at a busy time of day, which is nearly anytime due to the heavy volume of traffic from the south.
I live on Deerwood Circle and the only way I can go west on Highway 20 is to try and get onto Cedar Cross
Road from a stop sign. Not only is the traffic racing to get across Highway 20 with the green light, but we have
drivers turning right on red. 1 hope we will not wait until another fatal accident occurs at that spot before we do
something I am not an engineer but I am smart enough to see that the situation there now is impossible and
dangerous.
I would Iike a traffic study done there at a busy peak time. I also would appreciate a written response to these
concerns as to when I can expect a solution to these problems.
Thank you for your consideration.
