INTRODUCTION
This is an update on the John F. Kennedy Road sidewalk installation from Asbury Road
to the Northwest Arterial.
BACKGROUND
On August 6, 2007, the City Council directed the Engineering Department to develop
the plans and specifications for an assessable John F. Kennedy Sidewalk Construction
Project for those properties along John F. Kennedy Road from Asbury Road to the
Northwest Arterial.
DISCUSSION
On August 8, 2007, Civil Engineer Jon Dienst received notification from a representative
of Kennedy Manor Apartments, 2671 Owen Court, that it will proceed with the
installation of approximately 590 feet of sidewalk along its property on John F. Kennedy
Road. (Note map attachment.) It is the City's understanding that the work is scheduled
for completion this calendar year.
Since this portion of sidewalk installation would have been part of the City's John F.
Kennedy Sidewalk Construction Project, the City will coordinate with Kennedy Manor
Apartments on any required ADA ramps. There are no special amenities (tree trimming,
utility box relocation, retaining walls, etc.) that involve City cost-sharing.
