SUBJECT: Steel Girder Repair on U. S. 52
Dear Mayor Buol:
This is official notification to your City Council that the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT)
proposes to let a steel girder repair project for the bridge that carries Grandview Avenue over US 52
within the City of Dubuque. The scheduled letting date for this project is October 16, 2007.
The work will be done in accord with the current Form 810034 "Agreement for Primary Road
Extension Maintenance and Operation". Project costs will be paid from the Primary Road Fund and
no charges will be made against the City.
The project is proposed for construction during 2007.
Subject to the approval of, and without expense to the DOT, the City agrees to perform (or cause
private utilities to perform), all relocations, alterations, adjustments or removals of existing utility
facilities including but not limited to power, telephone and telegraph lines, natural gas pipelines,
water mains and hydrants, curb boxes, utility accesses, sanitary sewers, and related poles,
installations and appurtenances, whether privately or publicly owned, and all other facilities or
obstructions which are located within the limits of an established street or alley and which will
interfere with construction of the project, all in accordance with the Utility Accommodation Policy of
the DOT.
Resident Construction Engineer, Carey Lewis, of Manchester, Iowa, telephone number 563-927-
2397, will advise you of the contractor's proposed schedule when the information is available.

agenda as a matter of information for the Council members.
