On behalf of the Iowa Chapter of the American Planning Association, I am pleased to inform you that the City of
Dubuque has been selected to receive the Iowa APA Planning Excellence Award for Implementation for the Port
of Dubuque Master Plan!
The awards will be presented as part of the Upper Midwest Regional APA conference being held on Wednesday
thru Friday, October 31St thru November 2"d, in Dubuque, Iowa. The awards ceremony will be at the National
Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31St. This will be part of the
conference opening reception which will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Attached you will find the conference program
(please note that you do not need to register for the conference to attend the awards ceremony). At the
ceremony I will briefly introduce the award and then you will have the opportunity to make a short presentation or
remarks (2-5 minutes). PowerPoint will be available, if you provide me with a copy of the slides you'd like to show
by no later than Friday, October 26, 2007, so I can incorporate them into the awards presentation.
If you plan to attend the ceremony, please let me know who will be attending as soon as possible. Should you
have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
