Last year, the City purchased the property at the northwest corner of 14th & Elm having
a common address of 1401 & 1421 Elm Street. The property was one city lot which
included a single family residence and the former Angie's Bar business. The City has
since demolished the building housing the bar business and has completed some
renovations on the residential building at 1421 Elm Street.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends City Council approval of the Plat of Survey for
Lot 1 and 2 of Angie's Place in the City of Dubuque in order to create a new lot
encompassing the residential building at 1421 Elm Street.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

This memorandum is a request for approval of the Plat of Survey for Lot 1 and 2 of
Angie's Place in the City of Dubuque in order to create a new lot encompassing the
residential building at 1421 Elm Street.
BACKGROUND
Last year, the City purchased the property at the northwest corner of 14th & Elm having
a common address of 1401 & 1421 Elm Street. The property was one city lot which
included a single family residence and the former Angie's Bar business. The City has
since demolished the building housing the bar business and has completed some
renovations on the residential building at 1421 Elm St.
DISCUSSION
Buesing and Associates Inc., has prepared a plat dividing the existing lot (Lot 142 of
East Dubuque Addition) creating Lot 1 and 2 of Angie's Place in the City of Dubuque,
Dubuque County, Iowa. Lot 1 contains the existing residence at 1421 Elm St. This lot
and property is planned to be listed and sold in the near future. The City will retain Lot 2
where the bar was located at 1401 Elm Street. The City will hold onto Lot 2 until future
decisions or plans are made for the intersection and location.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Plat of Survey of Lot 1 and Lot 2 of Angie's Place in the City
of Dubuque be approved and signed by the Mayor to create a new lot encompassing
the residential building at 1421 Elm Street.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
The recommendation of the City Manager should be approved for the Plat of Survey of
Lot 1 and Lot 2 of Angie's Place through the adoption of the enclosed resolution.

RESOLUTION APPROVING PLAT OF SURVEY OF LOT 1 AND 2 OF ANGIE'S
PLACE IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, DUBUQUE COUNTY, IOWA
Whereas, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Dubuque, Iowa,
a plat dated the 23rd day of April, 2015, prepared by Buesing and Associates Inc.,
dividing Lot 142 of East Dubuque Addition, to be hereinafter known as Lot 1 and 2 of
Angie's Place in the City of Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa; and
Whereas, said plat conforms to the laws and statutes pertaining thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the plat dated the 23rd day of April, 2015, prepared by Buesing and
Associates relative to the real estate hereinabove described be and the same is hereby
approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed
to execute said plat for and on behalf of the City of Dubuque, Iowa.
Section 2. That the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to file said
plat and certified copy of this resolution in the office of the Recorder in and for Dubuque
County, Iowa.
