WHEREAS, September is Hunger Action Month, when Feeding America and member food
banks ask everyone in their communities to take action to fight hunger; and
WHEREAS, St. Stephen's Food Bank will host an open house from 10 AM to12 PM on
Saturday, September 19, 2015 at its facility at 3145 Cedar Crest Ridge; and
WHEREAS, Carolyn Scherf of Green Dubuque and Ashley Neises of the Dubuque Rescue
Mission will be available to discuss programs and policies at the intersection of
sustainable agriculture and local healthy food access in Dubuque; and
WHEREAS, Senator Pam Jochum and Representative Chuck Isenhart will attend the open
house to help raise awareness toward solving hunger.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND THE CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE
19T" DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2015 AS
"HUNGER ACTION AWARENESS DAY"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my
hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of
