Educational programs are fundamental
to our mission
Collectively, 19,085 children participated in our
2001 programs, including:
· Arts Trek
· Youth ensembles
· Youth symphony
· Children's workshops
· Theatre classes
· After-school arts classes

· Special summer sessions
· Outreach programs for students and adults
· Internships
Note: the Art Museum is hosting a city-wide high school art
exhibition in conjunction with the city's 2002 Dubuquefest
in May

City Support Is Needed
· Two groups struggle to meet annual
budgets
· One is operating at a loss
· Collective endowments-S675,000
· $50,000 requested is the same
amount as proposed for the new
downtown study
· $150,000 represents one tenth of one
percent of the proposed city budget
· The city has demonstrated
willingness to support
cultural/educational programs as
exemplified in its support of the
Discovery Center.
