Van Milligen, City Manager SUBJECT: Boards and Commissions — Housing Commission DATE: November 30, 2015 The City Attorney's Office and the City Clerk's Office have been working on updating the Boards and Commissions ordinances to make the standard provisions in all of the ordinances uniform and consistent. Assistant City Attorney Crenna Brumwell recommends City Council approval of an ordinance that amends Section 2-5B-5 to reduce the number of cross-representatives to be consistent with the Housing Trust Fund Advisory Committee, which was amended on August 3, 2015 to stay in compliance with the State Housing Trust Fund Grant Agreement. Previously, the Housing Commissioners on the Committee were not looked at as public officials, which allowed them to serve as public sector representatives. However, the state has determined the Housing Commissioners are not eligible to serve as representatives of the public sector. Therefore, it was necessary to amend the Housing Trust Fund Advisory Committee Ordinance as well as the Housing Commission Ordinance. I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council approval. Mic ael C. The goal is to make the standard provisions in all of the ordinances uniform and consistent. Attached please find a draft ordinance for the Housing Commission. For this ordinance, Section 2-5B-5 is amended by reducing the number of cross-representatives to be consistent with the Housing Trust Fund Advisory Committee, which was amended on August 3, 2015 to stay in compliance with the State Housing Trust Fund Grant Agreement. Previously, the Housing Commissioners on the Committee were not looked at as public officials which allowed them to serve as public sector representatives.
