Plat of Survey of Cypress, Wall and Washington Streets and Adjacent
Alleys
In response to a State requirement to prepare and file a plat for property surveys which
includes the retracement of existing boundary lines, Public Works Director Mike Koch
recommends approval of the Plat of Survey of Cypress, Wall and Washington Streets
and adjacent alleys.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

Plat of Survey of Cypress, Wall, & Washington Streets And
Adjacent Alleys
INTRODUCTION
This is in response to a State requirement to prepare and file a plat for property
surveys which includes the retracement of existing boundary lines.
DISCUSSION
The attached plat shows the recently-surveyed portions of Cypress Street, Wall
Street, Washington Street, and adjacent alleys between the northeasterly line of
6th Street and the northwesterly line of Market Street and the southeasterly right-
of-way line of the Canadian National Illinois Central Railroad. The survey was
performed by WHKS & Company on behalf of the City. The purpose of the
survey was to determine the precise location of the public streets and alleys in
the area of Dubuque Hardwoods.
Any such retracement surveys of existing lots must be recorded pursuant to Iowa
Codes. The Dubuque County Recorder also requires an "Owner's Consent"
certificate to be attached to the plat.
RECOMMENDATION
I would recommend that the attached plat be approved and that the Mayor be
authorized and directed to sign the plat on behalf of the City.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
The recommendation should be approved through the adoption of the enclosed
resolution.

RESOLUTION NO. -02
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLAT OF SURVEY OF A PORTION OF CYPRESS,
WALL, AND WASHINGTON STREET AND ADJACENT ALLEYS
Whereas, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Dubuque,
Iowa, a plat dated February 12, 2002, prepared by WHKS & Company, describing the
retracement of Cypress Street, Wall Street, Washington Street and adjacent alleys
between the northeasterly line of 6th Street and the northwesterly line of Market Street
and the southeasterly right-of-way line of the Canadian National Illinois Central
Railroad.
Whereas, said plat conforms to the laws and statutes pertaining thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the plat dated February 12, 2002, prepared by WHKS &
Company, relative to the real estate hereinabove described be and the same is hereby
approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and
directed to execute said plat and on behalf of the City of Dubuque, iowa.
Section 2. That the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to file
said plat and certified copy of this resolution in the office of the Recorder, in and for
Dubuque County, Iowa.
