Revision to Section 44-201 (a) and Section 44-202
Water Department Manager Bob Green is recommending a change to Code of
Ordinances Section 44-201(a) which fixes water rates for residential and industrial use,
and Section 44-202 which fixes water rates for fire sprinkler service, to reflect a 2% rate
increase effective July 1, 2002.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Revision to Section 44-201 (a) and Section 44-202
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this memorandum is to submit to you a copy of a
proposed ordinance change for your review and approval. This ordinance change
would rewse paragraph (a) of Section 44-201 fixing water rates for residential and
industrial use and Section 44-202 fire sprinkler service of the Code of Ordinances.
DISCUSSION: It has been recommended in our budget request for FY '03 that a 2%
rate increase be implemented. The old and new rates are show on the following
pages.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff and I are recommending that the attached proposed
ordinance change be reviewed and approved by the City Manager and City Council
with the effective date of July 1, 2002.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE,
IOWA, SECTION 44-201 (a) FIXING WATER RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL AND INDUSTRIAL
USES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. Section 44-201 (a), of the code of Ordinances, City of Dubuque, Iowa is amended
to read as follows:
*Section 44-201 (a). Residential, Commercial, Industrial and all other uses.
(a) Commencing July 1, 2002, the rates to be charged for water for residential,
commercial, industrial and all other uses and purposes by person, firm or corporation
within the city shall be fixed and determined as follows:
