WHEREAS, Frank F. Farber was born to Morris and Sarah Farber on February 19,
1915 in Dubuque, Iowa and now is celebrating his ninetieth birthday;
and
WHEREAS, Frank is a lifelong resident of the great city of Dubuque, Iowa, and he
and his family have contributed much to this area; and
WHEREAS, on September 1, 1940 Frank married Sylvia Fein and together they
raised five wonderful children: Donna, Allan, Jim, David and Susan,
who have given them eleven grandchildren and now seven great
grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Frank is the "Godfather" of Farber Bag Company, now located in
Peosta, IA; and
WHEREAS, he is a walking, talking historian of this area and leads an active
social life, enjoying tennis, traveling in his BMW and other youthful
activities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dubuque is proud to honor Frank Farber and his great
contributions to Dubuque.
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2005 AS:
"FRANK F. FARBER DAY"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA AND URGE EVERYONE TO GIVE FRANK

Dear Frank:
I understand that you are attaining the grand age of 90 years old on Saturday,
February 19, 2005. Congratulations!
In your long lifetime, I am sure you have seen many changes in the world, this
area and your own personal world. Reminiscing about these changes and looking
back at photos bring many of these memories to life.
Living here all your life has certainly made you an exemplary citizen. You and
your late wife, your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have added
uniquely to the positive environment of this area.
On behalf of the City Council and staff, and myself personally, I congratulate you
on this wonderful occasion of the celebration of your 90th birthday. May God truly
bless you with many more happy and fulfilling days.
I am honored to offer you this Proclamation proclaiming Saturday, February 19,
