SUBJECT: Timber Hyrst Estates #4 Sanitary Sewer South Line Project

Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Timber Hyrst
Estates #4 Sanitary Sewer South Line Project was awarded on January 28, 20161 to
Connolly Construction, Inc., in the amount of $99,053.70, which was 19.34% below the
estimate of probable cost.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the Timber Hyrst Estates
#4 Sanitary Sewer South Line Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City
Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: Timber Hyrst Estates #4 Sanitary Sewer South Line Project
The Timber Hyrst Estates #4 Sanitary Sewer South Line Project will extend the sanitary
sewer from the South Fork of Catfish Creek to Timber Hyrst subdivision Phase #4. There
are two different projects that will serve Timber Hyrst subdivision #4 with sanitary sewer
service, the North and South line projects.
The following is a summary for the South Line project is as follows:

Tschiggfrie Excavating $ 129,334.10
McDermott Excavating $ 132,238.40
Portzen Construction, Inc. $ 142,552.20
Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on January 28, 2016 to Connolly Construction, Inc. of Peosta, Iowa, in the
amount of$99,053.70. This amount is 19.34% below the estimate of probable cost.
This portion of the project will be funded as follows:
