Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, the Northwest
Arterial Fiber Optics — JFK to US 52 Project was awarded on February 4, 2016, to
Portzen Construction, Inc., in the amount of $115,697.50.
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends that the award for the Northwest Arterial
Fiber Optics - JFK to US 52 Project be officially recorded in the minutes of the City
Council.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

SUBJECT: NW Arterial Fiber Optics — JFK to US 52 Project
The NW Arterial Fiber Optics — JFK to US 52 Project will provide for the installation of
approximately 10,450 feet of Duraline FuturePath (7 conduit) fiber optic conduit along the
south side of the NW Arterial (IA 32) from John F. Kennedy Road to US 52.
The following is a summary of the bids received:

Through the competitive quotation process for public improvements, this project was
awarded on February 4, 2016 to Portzen Construction, Inc. of Dubuque, Iowa, in the
amount of$115,697.50.
