WHEREAS, KDTH Radio went on the air on May 4, 1941 as one of the very first
radio stations serving Dubuque and the Tri-State area; and
WHEREAS, KDTH has earned a reputation as "The Voice of the Tri-States,"
providing live and local news, weather, and sports coverage to the
Dubuque area throughout its history; and
WHEREAS, KDTH employees, both on-air and behind-the-scenes, have been
involved and vital members of the Dubuque community, with such
notable examples as Gordie Kilgore, Betty Thomas, Red McAleece,
George Freund, Gary Dolphin, and its current, award-winning staff;
and
WHEREAS, the station and its staff has provided and assisted with many
community service projects and events, including Honor Flight of
Greater Dubuque, the annual Shoes That Fit campaign, and 30 years
of July 3r Fireworks and Air Shows.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND THE CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO
HEREBY PROCLAIM THE 4TH DAY OF MAY, 2076 AS
"KDTH DAY"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have
hereunto set my hand and caused the
Great Seal of the City of Dubuque to
be affixed this 2"' day of May, 2016.
