This is a claim in which claimant alleges that when the alley was repaired behind his
rental property of 2554 Jackson Street, the City's contractor failed to reconnect existing
sewer line to newly installed sewer line, causing the sewer to backup into the basement.
This claim has been referred to Public Entity Risk Services of Iowa, the agent for the Iowa
Communities Assurance Pool.

While claimant was being searched prior to arrest, claimant's wrist watch, cell phone, a
ring of keys, and loose dollar bills of unknown denominations were placed in a zip lock
bag by the officer and placed on top of the officer's squad car. The officer subsequently
drove away, forgetting to grab the zip lock bag from the top of the squad car. Claimant
is making a claim for the property loss.
