Plat of Survey for Marshall Park
Planning Services Manager Laura Carstens is recommending approval of the plat of
survey which encompasses property owned by the City of Dubuque for Marshall Park
and the Arboretum. The plat of survey was completed to verify and establish the
boundary lines in the field for Marshall Park and the Arboretum.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

Plat of Survey for Marshall Park
INTRODUCTIONS
The submitted plat of survey encompasses property owned by the City of Dubuque for
Marshall Park and the Arboretum. The plat of survey was completed to verify and
establish the boundary lines in the field for Marshall Park and the Arboretum.
DISCUSSION
The plat of survey is necessary to allow the Arboretum to develop a mapping system
that will accurately locate each planting bed and trees within the Arboretum. The plat
of survey will aid in creating a grid system that is tied into the exterior boundaries of the
park.
RECOMMENDATION
The Mayor is being asked to sign under the owner's consent for the City of Dubuque as
the owner of the subject property.

RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLAT OF SURVEY OF SW % SW %; the NW % OF
THE SE % SW % AND THE BALANCE OF LOT 1 OF THE S % OF THE SE % SW %
AND THE SW % OF THE SW % SE %, ALL IN SECTION 10, T89N, R2E OF THE 5TM
P.M., IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
Whereas, there has been filed with the City Clerk a plat of survey of the SW ¼ SW ¼;
the NW ¼ of the SE % SW % and the balance of Lot 1 of the S % of the SE % SW ¼ and the
SW % of the SW % SE %, all in Section 10, T89N, R2E of the 5th P.M., in the City of Dubuque;
and
Whereas, said plat of survey has been reviewed by the City Planner and had her
approval endorsed hereon; and
Whereas, said plat of survey has been examined by the City Council and they find that
it conforms to the statutes and ordinances relating hereto.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the plat of survey of the SW ¼ SW %; the NW ¼ of the SE % SW ¼
and the balance of Lot 1 of the S % of the SE % SW % and the SW % of the SW % SE %, all
in Section 10, T89N, R2E of the 5"~ P.M,, in the City of Dubuque is hereby approved and the
Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to endorse the approval of the City
of Dubuque, Iowa, upon said survey.
