Minutes_Community Development Advisory Commission 6 15 16 UNAPPROVED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES DATE: Wednesday, June 15, 2016 TIME: 5:30 p.m. PLACE: Housing and Community Development Department 350 W. 6t" Street, Suite 312, Dubuque IA 52001 Chairperson Michelle Hinke called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m., following staff assurance of compliance with Iowa Open Meeting Law. Commissioners Present: Rick Baumhover Michelle Hinke Rob Blok II Tom Wainwright Dean Boles Julie Woodyard Janice Craddieth (arrived at 5:33 pm) Commissioners Absent: Theresa Caldwell Lindsay James Staff Present: Erica Haugen Sarah Bennett Public Present: Ann Lorenz Thomas Donsey Dawn Cogan Kaitlin Kellogg Certification of Minutes None Correspondence / Public Input None Old Business None New Business Purchase of Service Grant— Grant Review Committee funding recommendations Erica Haugen, Community Development Specialist, shared with the Commission the recommendations for funding for the 2017 Purchase of Service Grant. The Grant Review Committee, comprised of Commissioner Dean Boles, Commissioner Janice Craddieth, Commissioner Michelle Hinke, Commissioner Lindsay James, and Housing Director Alvin Nash, scored and ranked 11 applications the City received. Of the 11, 9 organizations have been recommended to receive funding for projects the committee feels best fits the City's goals and priorities. The following organizations were recommended for funding: NAME Amount Recommended 1. St. Mark Youth Enrichment 20,000.00 2. Hillcrest Family Services 10,000.00 3. Opening Doors 20,000.00 4. Dubuque Dream Center 10,728.00 5. Lutheran Services of Iowa 2,500.00 6. Riverview Center 6,250.00 7. Cedar Valley Friends of the Family 10,000.00 8. St. John's Lutheran Church 10,728.00 9. My Gear Outreach 2,500.00 Haugen then requested the Commission consider the recommendations to forward to City Council for the June 20, 2016 meeting. Commissioner Woodyard moved to approve the recommendations for the 2017 Purchase of Service Grant. Commissioner Craddieth seconded. Roll call. All present in favor. Motion passed. Information Sharing Haugen reminded the Commission that the Election of Officers will be held during the July CDAC Meeting.
