FROM: Michael C. Van Milligen, City Manager
SUBJECT: Request to Retitle the Position of Truck Driver to Utility Worker
DATE: July 11, 2016
Public Works Director John Klostermann has requested that the position of Truck Driver
be retitled as Utility Worker because he believes Utility Worker is a better description of
the work performed by the employees in this position.
Personnel Manager Randy Peck requests the City Council approve the retitle of the
position of Truck Driver to Utility Worker. The rate of pay would remain the same as
Truck Driver. The new title would apply to employees appointed to this position on or
after July 19, 2016. Current Truck Drivers would retain the title of Truck Driver.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.
