English Ridge Green Space: For the Children, for Us
City Council has put off funding for green space in our area for five years. Currently
2021 is the soonest date that any monies for development of the space is being
allocated. If it is true that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, then let's all start
squeaking!
Every day I see adults jogging and parents walking with their strollers, and children
on their bicycles along Stone Valley Drive. There are no sidewalks but lots of cars and
speeders. Our neighborhood boys are playing ball in the street and the girls are riding in
their electric cars there. A walking trail and some manicured green space would benefit
us all and keep us so much safer! Land has already been donated to the city for
development. We are not asking for fancy landscaping or multi-million dollar playground
equipment and buildings, just some green space to enjoy away from traffic. Perhaps
later they could add some of the other amenities but for now we are in dire need of this
space just to keep us safe.
