SUBJECT: FY16 Sewershed 7, 11 and 12 Sanitary Sewer Manhole Project
(CIP 7101335)
DATE: August 8, 2016
City Engineer Gus Psihoyos is recommending acceptance of the public improvement
construction contract for the FY16 Sewershed 7, 11 and 12 Sanitary Sewer Manhole
Project, as completed by Connolly Construction, Inc., in the final contract amount of
$150,819.25, which is a 36.77% increase from the original contract amount of
$110,274.20. The cost increase was primary due to unsuitable backfill materials found
during construction, and additional concrete and asphalt materials needed for street
patches. Also, there were seven additional service laterals near the excavations that
needed to be replaced.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.
