Proclamation Arbor DayPROCI AMATION
WHEREAS, on April 27, 2002, the citizens of Dubuque are invited to the Dubuque
Arboretum and Botanical Gardens to celebrate Arbor Day, and
WHEREAS,
we resolve to become more vigilant when working around trees,
taking the appropriate steps to avoid or minimize damage to the
trees, and
WHEREAS,
we resolve to become more knowledgeable and increase our
understanding of the delicate nature of trees and their growing
environment, and to no longer take them for granted, and
WHEREAS,
we recognized that we can not save every tree,
replace those that are lost with trees that have
selected, placed and planted.

NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA DO HEREBY PROCLAIM SATURDAY, APRIL 28, 2002 AS:
"ARBOR DA Y"
IN THE .CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA AND URGE OUR CITIZENS TO RECOGNIZE
THE BEAUTY AND VALUE OF TREES.
