Whereas, Toastmasters International is one of the world's leading organizations devoted to
communication, leadership development, and has over 345,000 members in 142
countries in over 15,900 clubs; and
Whereas, Since Toastmasters International began in 1924, has more than three million men and
women who have benefited from its communication and leadership programs world-
wide; and
Whereas, Toastmasters International continues to deliver on the mission to empower individuals
to become more effective communicators and leaders; and
Whereas. Toastmasters International vision is to be the first-choice provider of dynamic, high-
value, experiential communication and leadership skills development; and
Whereas, The City of Dubuque has 5 Toastmasters Clubs (Speak-Easy Club, Tri-State Toasters,
McGraw-Hill Pillar Talk, Talk of the Town and E-Series Toastmasters Club). Each
building our citizens skills to build a more progressive, sustainable Dubuque with
achieving goals through partnerships.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND THE CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE
WEEK OF 24TH OF OCTOBER, 2016 AS:
"TOASTMASTERS WEEK"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my
hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of
Dubuque to be affixed this 15th day of October, 2016.
