call and stated this is a
special session of the
City Council called for
the purpose of, con-
ducting a work session
/ walking tour of Upper
Bee Branch Creek Re-
storation Project.
WORK SESSION
Walking Tour of the
Upper Bee Branch
Creek Restoration
Project
City Engineer Deron
Muehring and Project
Manager Steve Brown
conducted a walking
tour with the City
Council of the Upper
Bee Branch Creek Re-
storation Project. The
tour began at the park-
ing lot at 420 Garfield
Avenue and continued
along the project end-
ing at 24th Street. Top-
ics included: a descrip-
tion of the box culverts
under the railroad,
existing/old channel
under Pine Street;
placement of fish habi-
tat structures, bio-
fields/swales; final
creek bed dredging
and finishing, land-
scaping and low -
maintenance grass se-
lections; flood warning
indicators/signage, de-
scription of the lime-
stone coating and
gravel epoxy; storm
water management
planned at additional
intersections; Heritage
Trailhead parking area
and off-street parking
designs and availabili-
ty; green spaces and
meadow; amphitheater
feature and associated
grant procurement; ge-
othermal discharge
from Audubon School
component and bene-
otary Public in and for Dubuque County, Iowa.

Mr. Muerhing stated
that when complete,

the trail loop
Garfiled Avenue to 24th
Street will be about
one mile. TheI bike trail
currently
the railroad on the
south end of the proj-
ect to reconnect with
the Lower Bee Branch
trail at 16th Street. The
project is expected to
be completed in late
spring 2017 with a rib-
bon cutting tentatively
around June 2017.
There being no fur-
ther business, upon
motion the City Council
adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
