CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

The Dubuque City Council met in special session at 4:30 p.m. on August 25, 2008,
at the Grand River Center
Present: Mayor Buol, Council Members Braig, Connors, Jones, Lynch, Resnick
Voetberg, City Manager Van Milligen, City Attorney Lindahl
Mayor Buol read the call and stated this is a special session of the City Council
called for the purpose of conducting a goal setting session with Lyle Sumek facilitating.
The City Council reviewed the 2007-2008 Performance Report and discussed the
top successes for the past year and the actions associated with each. These included:
Progressive, Sustainable City; Strong, Balanced Economy; Connections to the World;
Pride in our History and Heritage; Picturesque River and Community; Quality Livable
Neighborhoods; Fun Things to Do; and Engaged in the Community.
The City Council reviewed and refined the Dubuque vision for the year 2024 and re-
evaluated the City’s goals and priorities.
There being no further business, upon motion the meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
